Speaking of bad weather...

It rains a lot in Maryland.
Seriously. Everyday, 24 hours a day, there's been constant downpours and... thunder!...

The last day the sun was out was last Wednesday. That day, K&N took me for a looooooong walk. I have never seen so many cars and people. When I used to go on walks around the neighborhood in Chesapeake, I would see one, maybe two cars drive by. And they'd only be going 20 miles an hour. Here, everybody zips by so fast!

The other difference between the walks here and the walks back home is that K&N keep making me walk beside them. Imagine that! I prefer being in front and pulling everybody along, but they won't let me. I resist in the beginning, but then I get so tired, I end up practically walking behind them.

It doesn't help that there are so many hills here! Back home, everything's nice and flat. But here, I get tired going up all these steep inclines!

The best part of walking with K&N is that I get a nice brush when we come back to the house. Nakko takes her time and brushes all the itchy hair out of my coat in the places I can't reach myself, and it feels really nice! I also like walking home because I know there's a big bowl of water and a giant pillow with my name on it!

Bad weather

It's been raining all week, and I experienced my first thunderstorms since moving to Maryland.

Wednesday night was the first one. And I wasn't very happy. Luckily, K&N decided to stay up with me. Maybe my whimpering and constantly scratching the door woke them up? Anyway, they went down and slept in the basement with me. Well, they didn't sleep that much.

Both K&N took turns calming me down when the storm got too loud. Everytime the thunder struck, I had an urge to hide in a corner. Too bad there were a lot of boxes in these corners. But they didn't complain.

It's stormed a lot since then, but I haven't been as scared.

Getting more comfortable

So I've been getting used to living in Maryland. It took me a couple days, but now I can say I'm starting to like it here.

K&N have this routine. First, KC gets up at 6:30 AM to take me outside.
BTW, There's a dog across the street that barks at me every morning! I think she likes me ;)
Anyway, after that, I eat a little breakfast and generally play around for an hour.
Then, after they get ready for work, KC takes me out again. After which, I go willingly (at least that's what they think) in the crate for the day.

I don't really like it, but it'll do. I tried escaping once (and it worked!) The second time, not so much. So, I'm getting used to it. At least the temperature's cooler downstairs.

Anyway, Natchan comes home first and lets me out. We had fun yesterday. She kept throwing this rope, and I kept fetching it. Doesn't she get tired?

When KC came home, they both took me for a looooong walk. We ended up at this park with a lot of beer cans lying around. It was interesting, lemme tell ya. Natchan brushed me. And it felt good. Then we went home. Ate dinner, watched some television and went to bed.

And boy, was I tired!

I think I'm forgetting how to chase my tail.

Anyway, I think I'm happy here.

See?

First day with KC & Nakko

Sunday was the first day I spent with KC & Nakko, without Mom, Dad and Raymond. I was sad all day. Fortunately, they let me sit on the ottoman.

I didn't eat or drink much yesterday. I was too depressed.

I did finish my whole bowl of food this morning!

I feel a lot better and even played with my bone and rolled around on Nakko's pillow.

Maybe I'll like it here after all.
